1. Overview

ContentGuard Lite ("we", "us", "the site") is a free, browser-based content analysis toolkit available at this domain. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is used.

By using ContentGuard Lite, you agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Enter Into Tools

ContentGuard Lite processes all text and images locally in your browser. Text entered into the Plagiarism Checker, AI Detector, or Rewriter tools is never transmitted to our servers. Images uploaded to Image Search or AI Image Detector are processed entirely within your device using the Web Canvas API and are never uploaded anywhere.

2.2 YouTube Tool Data

When you use the YouTube Tools feature, your browser makes a request through a third-party CORS proxy to fetch publicly available YouTube page data. The YouTube video URL you enter is sent to the proxy service. We do not store, log, or process this request beyond displaying results to you. The proxy service may log request IP addresses per their own privacy policies.

2.3 Automatically Collected Data

Like most websites, we (and our advertising and analytics partners) may automatically receive and record standard web data including:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • IP address (anonymized where possible)
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring URL
  • Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)

This data is used solely for site performance analysis and advertising purposes described below.

2.4 Cookies and Local Storage

ContentGuard Lite uses browser localStorage to save your theme preference (dark/light mode). This data never leaves your device. Third-party advertising cookies (described below) may also be placed by Google AdSense.

3. Google AdSense & Advertising

ContentGuard Lite uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense is a service provided by Google LLC. We use advertising revenue to maintain this free service.

3.1 How Google AdSense Works

Google uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

3.2 Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

By default, Google AdSense may show personalized ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or by visiting www.aboutads.info.

3.3 Third-Party Vendors

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. These third-party vendors' use of advertising cookies enables them and their partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

3.4 DoubleClick Cookie

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies known as DoubleClick cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

Google AdSense on this site is configured to not serve personalized ads to users identified as minors. For more information, see Google's policies on children's content.

6. Data Security

Since ContentGuard Lite processes tool inputs entirely in your browser, there is no risk of your text or image data being intercepted via our servers. We implement standard web security practices including HTTPS encryption for all connections, security headers (X-Content-Type-Options, X-XSS-Protection), and no collection of sensitive personal information.

7. Third-Party Links & Services

ContentGuard Lite may contain links to external websites (such as YouTube). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

The YouTube Tools feature accesses publicly available YouTube data through third-party CORS proxy services. These proxy services operate under their own privacy policies and terms of service.
